ABOUT ME - Greg Wirtz

I am a 1973 Meadowdale High School graduate.  I received my teaching degree at Western Washington University and my master's degree in Athletic Administration from Seattle Pacific University.  I have taught Physical Education classes at all levels from kindergarten to college.  I enjoy teaching at the high school level the best.

I came to Meadowdale High School in 1991 specifically to teach all the weight lifting classes.  Since that time, I have branched out and taught individual sports, team sports, freshman PE, aerobics, walking for fitness, as well as continuing to teach some of the weight lifting classes.

I have coached at both Meadowdale and Mountlake Terrace High Schools, as well as being offered college coaching jobs at the community college level.  I have been the head cross-country coach, head men's basketball coach, as well as an assistant track and cross-country coach at Meadowdale High School.  I am currently evaluating men's high school basketball talent for The Evergreen State College basketball program.

In my free time, I enjoy playing competitive softball and running.  During our school breaks, you can find me on the hiking trails and beaches of Kauai, with my wife and two kids.  Creating this website has been a challenge for me.  As you might guess I'm not a computer wizard.  I prefer a sports environment to a computer desk.  Actually, computers frighten me, but I've joined the twenty-first century in order to provide this teaching tool for you.
